your body is either in an anabolic state or a catabolic state. anabolic means in a state ready for muscle growth. catabolic means you're turning muscle down, so obviously we want to be in an anabolic state. how to get in the anabolic state? like I've been telling you, and I repeat this over and over again because I want to drive it home. you get in an anabolic by eating five meals a day, protein in every meal. when you do that, it puts your body in a positive nitrogen balance. when you have a positive nitrogen balance you are in the anabolic state, ready for muscle growth. if you do the correct workouts with the correct intensities, if you eat two meals a day like a lot of people I know, and you don't have a positive nitrogen balance, you are catabolic. so when you go to the gym is not going to want to hear this, but what you're doing is you're burning up your own muscle, you're eating up your own muscle as more fuel for your workout. so everything that you're doing at the gym is for naught. it all starts with diets and nutrition. five meals a day, protein in every meal. if you want to get in anabolic and you want to gain lean body mass, and get healthier, have lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of cancer, you have to start with your diet.
